Cracks in the glaze

What are cracks in the glaze

All Dutch tiles have cracks in the glaze, mostly not visible only after a longer period the cracks become visible.
Due to the tension between the clay and glaze, almost all whites have very fine invisible hairline cracks in the glaze, sometimes only a few and sometimes a whole pattern of microscopically thin hairline cracks in the glaze.
Depending on the degree of use, these hairline cracks become visible after decades and are known as cracks; only in a wet area such as a shower will the cracks become visible sooner

The series RA2 is produced with a fine pattern of cracks in the glaze, when the old look is wanted these tiles can be washed with a special dye dissolved in water before filling the joints, the cracks become visible.
Powder and a manual is supplied on request so that you can wash the tiles yourself tile by tile or after tiling but before filling the joints, an easy job, or you can order the tiles washed in at an additional cost.
